Where's a good spot for dock fishing in/near Parksville?

Hey everyone,

Heading up to Parksville with the fam, and wondering if there's a good spot to cast off docks, rocks or anything off land that I could actually catch something? I don't care if I'm able to keep it or not, I just want to cast and hope I can reel something in :) Can't boat, landlocked for now.

You could try casting for Pinks off the beach at Nile Creek which is north of Parksville by about 20ish KM's.

Most guys fly fish for them and they're great sport on a fly rod. Others use spinning rods with pink spoons or a float with a fly attached to it.

The run might be close to being done for the year as it's generally a late July August thing but you never know.

Call the Nile Creek Flyshop and they'll have lots of good info for you.

I used to cast off the French ck breakwater when I was a kid, me and my buddies did pretty well too, for Coho. But that was the 1970's. HA! Might be different now. ;)

Right at this time you can cast and jig off the mouth of the Little Q for salmon........low tide:- but be very very careful, especially with kids along. It can be tricky.
