Urban Deer

A couple years ago a stocky buck ran head long into my passenger side fender
caving it in. The conversation with ICBC was interesting.
Had to sign an affidavit indicating I was telling the truth.

We all have a drunk uncle, who "hit a deer" or "swerved to avoid " one. I had to provide a deer hair sample from my bumper when one ran into me.

They are actually checking for PITT tags (such as are deployed in sturgeon etc) that are implanted in the antlers while still in velvet.
Program has been going on for quite some time, and includes other areas.

Cheers,
Nog

What was the deers story - you swerved to hit him?

Seems like every southern BC community has urban deer issues. I have no issue with a cull, or any other control measures for that matter. I just don't want public funds spent on what is another nuisance animal issue. If we fund deer control, then soon we are expected to fund raccoon control, next thing you know there will be demands for govt subsidised mouse traps. We can deal with nuisance animals ourselves: fencing, gates, paintball guns...
