In pic cable bracket above the number two. Should the cable bracket be able to move around. Or tight as you can see. Something ain't right.

I see the cable has slipped out and has got bent up.
Are you saying the cable bracket should not move?

If you put a new cable in it might not move.. It looks like your cable is done and there is too much restriction on that little bracket.

There is usually a plastic the in the cable housing.. once that wears though on a hard bend you're done.. I bet you could take that cable out and it will move quite freely. Then put it back in the boat and you'll hop out of that bracket again.... my .02

Yes a new cable is in order. But I can see that one braking aswell.
Guess I will try it loose and then tighten the bracket and see if it works better
One would thing there would be two screws if it was ment not to move.
