In Gamechangers defence it was foggy and hard to make your way down grappler when it is that thick; or maybe it had something to do with his get together, I know I had problems keeping out of the damn overgrown trees coming down there that night.

As for Y, he learned a good lesson, take your 2lb weight off before un-clipping from your rod, because when **** happens a 10/0 hook doesn't feel good being removed with a pair of pliers. Should have taken a pic but thought getting the hook out was more important. Next time though!

The derby was another fantastic weekend. Spooky mornings, thick fog, calm waters and bright skys. A little bit of everything. We did well with 16.4 being our biggest. We mainly fished vernon and picked up most of our fish just off Rutley Islands. We will be back next year

Actually it was in Bamfield Inlet somewhere...we went to the pub in Bamfield and one of our crew members got the boot...he was like a human octopus in that place, men women didn't matter and after we stepped in and broke up a little skirmish we got saddled with 300 lbs of deadweight that we had to pack out of the pub, down the dock, down the ramp, into the boat, across the inlet in the fog, up onto his dock and into his house...his mom wasn't impressed, but laughed at him...'kids" she says. I was all for going back to the pub, and started heading that way but the crew felt like that was a mistake and Seabeam was the place to be. Halfway across 5 obnoxious drunks talked me into changing course, and I thought to myself...I know its super-foggy (like can't see both sides of the inlet foggy) but I wonder if I could do this without electronics...I've done this lots and I think I know where I am...that light has got to be this light on the end of that guys dock, so that means that I must be somewhere near the church, so if I keep going in this direction than I should be...wow, there's the rocks. A quick reverse out and things were good. No damage as we were going slow but just a humble reminder that being able to see and using electronics are both nice to haves - less Jerry Springer and more CHS.

We had a good time, didn't impact the fish stocks too and had fun at the seafood BBQ party, thx to those who made it and maybe the makeshift bar will re-surface again this summer sometime...Maragritas...TUNA? Cheers lads, was a good time.
