Debry winner was 13 lbs something. Won by a fella in a wheel chairm $ 2460 - good on him!

The derby winner was 13.5 lb by Richard from Edmonton .
The reason Richard was in a wheel chair is that he has cancer and one of his last wishes was to get out to Sooke for one more fishing trip with his friend Al Kennedy (winner of the Salmon Classic Derby) from Reel Excitement Charters. Al purchased the ticket and Richard didn't even know he was in the derby until a few days before. After the derby his daughter said it was the first time she had seen him smile in a long time.
Good Job Reel Excitement Charters on winning your second Sooke Derby and putting a smile back onto Richard's face.
