If your boat is a 20” transom then you’ll have a 20” outboard shaft raising it to 25” would put your lower unit too high. It’ll help preventing water coming over slightly but not a lot, you have a motor well so water shouldn’t be an issue anyway. Now in my case on my 17 hourston I went from a 20” outboard to a 25” outboard therefore raising the transom to 25” was the only option but for what it’s worth I’d leave it as is, the costs associated with raising it 5” doesn’t outweigh the pros with doing it.

Don't do it unless you buy a 25" leg motor to replace your 20" leg outboard. I just raised my transom to suit a 25" leg. My buddy did the same to a Hourston and it definitely helps with water coming into the transom well, and with saltwater splashing onto the motor. But if you are planning on keeping your 20" leg, don't do it! Your prop can't be 5" higher than it was if that is what you are asking.
