hi guys,
just curious if anyone knew the approximate gear ratio and hp rating of the gearmotors used on the ace and endurance prawn pullers? guess a person would need the output rpm info of the gearmotor and sheave diameter of the puller to try to estimate the retrieval speed. was thinking of getting a tarp motor or something similar and fabbing my own up.

this ones 38rpm so would prob be a bit slow using a 12' sheave.
or maybe this one? would be a bit quicker...

what would a good retrieval speed be to shoot for, for a couple trap line?
is 1/2" shaft size strong enough? think that's what the ace and endurance are using for shaft size.
or any recommendations on what type of motor to use? want to stay away from the noisy can tire winch motors if possible. was thinking of possibly using the electradyne replacement motors...
I have an older ace but was thinking of making something up a bit more skookum to hang off my davit.
