October bottom fishing.

I have recently purchased an older 17' whaler after being boatless for a couple years and I'm planning an October fishing and camping trip.

I plan to fish for lings, halibut and prawns. I'm considering either Nootka or Kyuquot. Any suggestions on which would be better that time of year? I'm hoping to not venture too far off shore.

I'll be camping, and I'm also wondering if the docks at Cougar Creek will still be there?

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Check the regs. & Fisheries notices, Generally throughout BC, Ling & rockfish retention ends September 30 until May 1st.

Areas 25 and 26 are open for lingcod till Nov 15th, and I never mentioned rockfish, but they are open till Nov 15th as well. Unless I am reading the regs wrong.
