Merc 225 Seapro or 225 Fourstroke?

Thinking of repowering. Taking off a worn down Honda 225. Going with Mercury 225.
Boat is 21ft aluminum, heavy, hard top, fuel, fishing gear, crew etc.

Question: Merc Seapro 225 or Merc Fourstroke 225? What would you choose? Explain why.
The Seapro is a v8 and is heavier by about 75lbs.
Same price.

Looks like the 200hp Seapro is a V6
It's the 300hp that is a V8
unless I'm reading it wrong ?

200 Seapro = v6
225 Seapro = v8
200 Fourstroke = v6

He is right the 225 Seapro is a V8 and 225 Normal is a V6.

I went with the sea pro's. they have a heavy duty lower drive, and are tuned to produce more toque at lower RPM's.

The advantage of the V6 will likely be reduce fuel consumption

Can I ask what approximate annual maintenance cost is per Merc engine? Thousand bucks?

I'd question the fuel savings going with the 200s over the V8. I'm about to power with twin 225 seapros. I could definitely get away with the 200s but believe I will get better or very similar economy out of the 225 V8 and it won't be working as hard. Should make for better longevity. I've never wished I had less torque when in a trailing sea..... The weight difference is negligible to me.
