I bought a good grade rubber backed carpet that was a big upgrade over the manufacturers original...found it at End of The Roll. The original stuff I replaced every 2 years as the rubber seemed to break down and crumble. The stuff I got at End of The Roll has been on the boat cabin floor for over 10 years now and still looks good. Mine is just cut to fit..not glued down. Just ask to see their rubber back choices and tell them what it is for.
That is why carpet is a bad idea in a boat, hard to tell from the pic but to me.that black and the white residue on your wood is mold, wet carpet is a magnet for mold
