Makaira Boats?

Have you seen these New Zealand boats before? Video says the bottom plate is 5-16” (8mm). They claim it has the only Carolina bow flare (compound curve) in an aluminum boat. The shear line and bow flare do look really nice, but the reverse chine at entry is not that pronounced, so the spray seems to come up onto the front of the boat compared to some local hulls with more reverse chine. Imported into WA State.

Walked around it at the Seattle Show. Spoke with the sales guy from NZ. Super friendly dude. The boat is heavy and looked gorgeous. I remember thinking that it seemed designed well. But, we use our rigs hard and this gal just seems too pretty to beat on.

Haaaa. I ran a center console World Cat for 4 years up here. Even with awesome eisenglass wings that went from the console to the gunnel and 4’ aft along the gunnel, it was still cold and loud. I’m too old/spoiled for that. 😂
