I see on another forum that Ivan Berry of Berry's Bait and Tackle in Richmond has passed away.

He literally started selling worms out of his garage and the store grew and grew to become BC's largest independent tackle store.

Ivan was a great Guy very friendly invariably had time for people always gave straight up no nonsense advice.

Sorry to hear that. I was a young customer when he used to walk the beach at the south end of #5 Road selling worms and roe out of a cooler in 1975 or so. They still have great service. RIP.

It's definately a sad day.[:0] He was a real gentleman and was a great help to me when i was getting started in the independant guide back in the mid 80's. Even though his health hasn't been the best the last while.....it's always a bit of a shock.

My condolances to the Berry family and the staff @ the store.

Very sad news that Ivan Berry has passed away.
He was a great man with a great passion.I believe he has had a great influence on many many fisherman that passed thur the doors of the store over the years.
He will be remebered and missed
