Ice Fishing

Probably not one of the most exciting topics with the metalheads almost in the rivers, however, I'm heading up to the Merrit Area over the holidays and thought i'd give ice fishing a shot. If anyone has any info ie: webites/articles/advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Try Mamette lake just out of town on the road to Logan Lake. There is also a derby on the Lake coming up sometime over the holidays. Sponsored by the Merritt Rod and Gun club. Not sure how good the ice is now, but by the holidays no problem.

Fish shallow (3-5) of water, use a simple hook and a piece of corn or shrimp. Its that simple.

Thanks Bob, I beleive we will be staying in a cabin on piminus lake. It is about 20 km from Chataway Lakes. Depending on the snow we may have to snowmobile in. I appreciate the info!
