There's a flurry of activity in Nootka Sound in preparation for the busy 2009 Season which is less then a month away.
Many changes upgrades and additions to both our facilities Moutcha Bay Resort and Gold River Fishing Lodge floating in Galiano Bay should make this the best season ever.
Just to name a few:
1. Additional campsites at Moutcha Bay Resort
2. All New 30+ Slip Marina at Moutcha Bay Resort
3. Daily Camping and Two 8 Person Chalets at Moutcha Bay Resort
4. Decent road access to Nootka Sound with secure Parking available at Moutcha Bay Resort
5. The addition of Our All New Flag Ship Building at Gold River Fishing Lodge
6. Accomodations for up to 42 guests now at Gold River Fishing Lodge
7. New Red Seal Chef at Gold River Fishing Lodge
8. Our 29' Proline 6 Pack Guide Boat has been repowered with twin 300's ready for those offshore enthusiasts or larger groups
We cater to bring your own boat guests but chartered services are also available.
We now offer kayaking, scuba diving, lake and river fishing, fly fishing, steel heading, caving, off road jeep tours, wild life and eco tours, helicopter and float plane tours and so much more....
The best news yet is you will be able to purchase gas, diesel, propane, tackle, bait, ice and more at Moutcha Bays new fuel dock and store opening the first week in June.
Fishing Report:</u>
So far the focus of the early season die hards and locals has been prawns, oysters, crab and have even heard of a few nice chinooks being caught however now the nice weather has arrived more and more boats are arriving to take advantage of our early season off shore fishery. Headed back to the Lodge Monday so will report again soon. As of the first of June check out our websites for our weekly fishing reports.
