Subject: FN0544-Family Fishing Weekend June 19 - 21, 2015 - Recreational Fishery Licensing Information

British Columbia's Family Fishing Weekend is a celebration of the great
tradition of sport fishing. On June 19, 20 and 21, 2015, the public can go
fishing at no cost in many of BC’s lakes and rivers. The Government of Canada
is providing an opportunity to fish in all tidal waters (except for species and
Areas specified below).

If you are planning to retain halibut in any tidal waters and/ or lingcod in
Strait of Georgia (Areas 12 to 19 (excluding Subarea 12-14), Subareas 20-5 to
20-7 and 29-5):

Obtain a complimentary Tidal Water Sport Fishing licence online:
www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/sportfish

Check daily, possession and size limits and closures online:
http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/index-eng.html

All tidal area closures and recreational fishing limits and restrictions still
apply.

Record your catch on your licence.

If you wish to retain salmon in any tidal waters:

- Obtain a complimentary Tidal Water Sport Fishing licence AND purchase a
salmon conservation stamp online: www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/sportfish
- Check daily, possession and size limits and closures online:
http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/index-eng.html
- All tidal area closures and recreational fishing limits and restrictions
still apply.
- Record your catch on your licence if you retain any Chinook.

If you wish to fish for other species and in Areas not specified above:

- You do not require a licence to fish during the Family Fishing Weekend.
- Check daily, possession and size limits and closures online:
http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/index-eng.html
- All tidal area closures and recreational fishing limits and restrictions
still apply.

If you already have a valid Tidal Waters Sport Fishing Licence, you must record
your catch of the species specified in your licence conditions on your
licence.

If you wish to retain lingcod in the Strait of Georgia, halibut or salmon in
any tidal waters during the Family Fishing Weekend, plan ahead!

Licences can be purchased via any computer connected to the internet at
www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/sportfish
or by using Google search key words “Recfish Licence”. Once you register, you
will also be able to replace a lost licence or renew future licences through
NRLS.

Licences can also be purchased at select public access points; a list of
current service locations may be found at
http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/licence-permis/IAP-FAI-eng.pdf

It is recommended that you contact the applicable Independent Access Provider
to confirm the availability of licences and business hours prior to departure.

To minimize system delays, the best time to access the National Recreational
Licensing System is outside of peak periods. Peak periods are every day from 12-
3pm; every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; and anytime there is a major fishery
opening, such as the Fraser Sockeye opening.

If you encounter problems with printing, you can log into your account at a
later time and reprint your licence using the "licence replacement" function.

Refunds will not be issued for licences purchased online, so please ensure your
licence selection (including the effective date) is correct before you complete
your transaction.
