On behalf of BC Wildlife Federation members province wide but particularly those who venture out to sea to bring a halibut home I wish to thank and congratulate you for the courage and conviction to publicly support the recent allocation decision by Fisheries Minister Keith Ashfield. Despite the angry response by some from the commercial sector it is clear that you understand the value that our fisheries are to a far bigger fishing community, the public.
You have made many friends with your public stand in defense of the halibut allocation decision in the face of intimidation and the BCWF with its membership of over 40,000 wishes to offer you our sincere appreciation.
