Anchor Winch

Thinking it might be an advantage to go with a anchor drum type winch. Anyone have experience with this type of anchor system?

Plan to call them tomorrow. Looks like GX2 would work for my boat.

Striker, Which unit did you get and what size boat did you install it on? Did you bring it up from the US or a local supplier?
Lone star looks like a very good winch.

I got the GX2 from Hammer Marine. Had it sent to a mail drop in Bellingham. It's mounted on the bow of my 24' Trophy.

Joe, I see Endurance Marine is in Surrey , their drums look good too.

Did you look into the Endurance units??

No, I didn't see that one when I was shopping for a winch. I've looked at the site and it doesn't describe the winch very much.
The one with the 1,000 watt motor is $1,900 us. Seems pretty pricey to me.

I never saw that. Will need to have another look.

Ya too much it'll be a GX. Did you put recommended amount of rope and chain or add more.? Talked to them today and said you could get 50-60 ft of rope on the drum.

It's 295 feet and fits fine with another 20' of chain.

Not unless you go with a smaller size rope. 300' is plenty for my use.
