Welcome to Sport Fishing BC's Halibut Fishing Techniques Page.The halibut is the largest of the flatfishes and has a thick, but narrow, elongated body. The upper surface of the body is greenish brown or sometimes dark brown or black, but the underside is dingy white.

Size : 58-90 inches, maximum 184 inches

Weight : 33-300 pounds, maximum770 pounds!

Distribution : All throughout the tidal waters of British Columbia.
