Prawn Bait

thought i would share this.....i grind all alot of my back bones and collar's as well as my hali scraps. I then mix with last season left over scents, bait etc.etc....every thing goes in. Then i freeze it in 2.5oz cups. When i want to go prawning i toss a cup in my scotty bait container with a few pellets. Guess i have lots of pellets.... :) but check these out.

you must have a really nice wife or one who really likes prawns lol

They are plastic... Great shot glass say at a Christmas Party. :) 2.5oz

definitely passing on a shot from one of those cups! I'll keep with the bottle thank you. :)

Obviously you have a hard time judging size there Lorne. As they only 2.5 fluid oz measurment cups. Did you not have any hard bar at the party? Maybe we should have you over again. Oh you are comming by this week....LOL :)

I am so happy Robert at PNT didn't want my business.

As I found out today the Shar-Kare sells 55lb of really oily prawn pellets for only $49.99 every day of the week. That is 20-30dollars cheaper then any where else I know. Plus it is way cheaper then paying $30 for the 5lb buckets else where.

And no they are not farm pellets or trout food.

Check out the half pallet price on Carlise cat food man. Ask them about the price break and cut off.

My buddies and I have been on the Shar-Care program for years!

That pepperoni you gave me was awesome by the way:cool:.

We do something quite similar to the cup thing FA showed. Run tuna, hali, salmon frames and roe collected over the season through the grinder, shape and freeze. Don't need to add pellets. The oil slick they leave behind when they hit the water is truly Amazing!! :D

Cheers,
Nog

More.................. I went into Share Kare today to see if they sell Carlise cat food. They do. The price for a case of 24 is $15.67 (tax in)

I personally like to give the bugs a smorgasbord . Few pellets in the bottom of the cup, can of kitty food well perforated and then more pellets. I usually dump some of the pellets after a soak, and freshen up with new pellets.

I am too lazy to play around grinding up carcasses and heads and freezing the slop. But I save that goop for crab bait. Just another way of achieving the same goal--- good eats!

Having dealt with Shar-Kare for many years in a different business, I will say this - they are a tough but fair retailer, and they pass on their deals to their customers.

I think if you mixed Carlisle cat food with prawn pellets, you would be golden.

A suggestion, if you made that slurry and froze it, it might make for easier transport, portioning, etc. Yogurt cups might be a good fit for bait containers ....

Mmmmmm, prawns. :)
