Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

That boat has beautiful lines
Yes sir, if I was younger and did not waste time and money on I/o that woulld be a good pod and forever boat for me. No point investing money and time when they taking away our fishing opportunities bit by bit year after year

Hell yep it sure does, this is an amazing vessel. You can convert it over to pods, sure, but you'll spend a bunch if time managing ballast, like others who have converted Bertram boats have too. Then, when the 5.7s are lifted you have a killer spot for the floating hot tub you always wanted.

I saw a video on this, it was brutal when they remedied it. Surely some naval architect has figured it out by now. 60 years ago Bertram had dance floor desirability all figured out.

Why are Bertams more difficult to deal with than other converted boats?

This owner keeps re-listing this on FB but turns the comments off now, as it gets rough in there. Not many agree with his value, or his surveyor's as he keeps referring to. $145,000.

It seems the moment of inertia for the hull is more easily managed when the weight is already near the transom, vs taking out so much weight from the center of the hull, which was designed around thay weight location. Same with abermarles etc.

If you look at my boat for instance, hourston did next to nothing different in the transom or fuel tank location when they built the hand full of bracketed outboard models vs the IO pig in mine. Just make sure those gigantic trim tabs are functional and give 'er.

I was on board that 25' Bertram that was converted initially with twin Hondas and there were sandbags in every bilge hatch. I believe the subsequent owners managed to mitigate these issues however.

I don’t need to use my trim tabs unless there is an unbalanced load or rough head sea on my Hourston. Let’s get yours podded already!

If I had money to burn I would pod that sucker but I agree with Ray that with our dwindling opportunities it doesn’t make sense. I have a workable platform that’s paid for so I won’t be changing unless I go full on live aboard

This 34 meridian has double cummins enough elbow room to live aboard, a nice little rib with a 9.9 and cost less than an outfitter 23 foot aluminum these days. 199k CAD https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bod/d/seattle-meridian/7627342690.html
