June was byfar the best fishing month last year! You couldent pull a 20 plus pounder out from under a rock from the 10th of aug on. It was sickening. Gotta love those June night bites

Out off the bluffs on Thursday. Action was decent with about 6 fish, kept couple around 7 lbs. Hooked up with a halibut on the salmon gear but ended up losing it. Anchovies on one one rod and hoochie on the other, both fishing about the same.

Fished Beecher Bay to Church yesterday. Lots of 2-5 lb. fish with the odd larger from the Bedfords to Church (missed 2 good ones). Early in the am in Beecher my partner and I got a 22 1/2 and a 10 on spoons, then only smaller ones 4-5 so moved towards Church. There were lots of true cod in Beecher as well, especially in 150 ft. of water or less, and when near the bottom.
The largest fish was a hatchery as well as the rest, a "Marbled White". I would like to know where the marbleds originate so I will try to turn the head in today as it could be a Canadian fish with a tag - all the other hatcheries have been either red or a lighter pink.

Fished Becher Bay Saturday. The wind was nasty, even in the bay, but fishing was excelent. Had 8 on in 2 hours and kept 3. Nothing big but good action and NO SEALS.

Justin: Dragos got the fish with me. We almost had Scott with us but he couldn't miss a morning appointment he had. Brad was out yesterday with Jim from work in a 18.5 Campion. They got at least one good fish.

C. Askin
The cod range from about 1 to 3 lbs. with most ~2. Not big enough to get much of a filet unless you are willing to pick through a lot of bones.

True Cod are also called Pacific Cod, Alaska Cod or Grey Cod. The daily limit is 8. Just google TRUE COD images and the first pic you get will give you a good idea of what they look like.

Are you guys catching this as by-catch on spoons or via bait?

We were out at Becher Bay Sunday and caught our limit in winter springs but did not catch any true cod.
