That raises an interesting question. How many of us would eat atlantic salmon that we caught wild? I don't buy farmed salmon partly because I don't think that they are all that healthy. So I doubt that I would eat an atlantic salmon that I caught. Unless of course he could prove to me that he swam here from the east coast

That happened in july ???? but I can tell you in all the years I have fished near there pens in the Knight inlet and surrounding areas
Me personally or any of the other guides have never got one and there has been alot of escapement that you dont hear about.

I have been up there now for 15 years with 4 or 5 boats a day going out and in our hey day we started in april to sept now its only june to sept thats a whole lot of fishing and still not one atlantic.
dont think they bite that good

I was reading some countries ( seems to be the ones that have had fish farming) are requiring the labeling to include the drugs or hormones used. Maybe we need that system as well. Kind of like the cigarette packages.

Im sure not anything more in an atlantic than a farm raised beef..... There was a time, when I didnt have all the wild caught salmon I could eat..... and I got to say, they taste pretty good.... thats normally what you get in most restraunts is farmed fish[8)]

Fish farms can use antibiotics and such but must stop giving the drug and then wait several days before harvesting so the drug is eliminated and not present in the tissue. That Fish Farm in Frederick's Arm seems to have had several escapement problems over the last few years. Nice to read something from Henry Spit.
