You should be able to make Bamfield in 4 hours, it's not that far. Cookshak is open every day at 5:30.

So the plan is to leave thursday morning and run to bamfield. I have an extra day in case I need to overnight in Renfrew.
I have a couple of questions of the Renfrew and Bamfield boys.
1.) is the cookshack open at the marina in renfrew?
2.) the Wind models show a trend of lighter winds up past carmanah on most days, is that holding true?
3.) If I arrive in bamfiel early, is there anywhere to tie up overnight?
Oh ya and whats happening around Bamfield, has the fishing picked up on that side of the sound yet?
Thanks in Advance guys!

You should be able to tie up in Bamfield at any of the goverment docks. There is one on the right side of the harbor in front of Mills Landing and the one on the left is a little ways past the Kingfisher fuel docks.

Ya thats what I figured, but this is breaking new ground for my boat and I need to be there friday so an extra day of fishing isn't gonna hurtquote:You should be able to make Bamfield in 4 hours,
Cookshack is open at 5 am! And the breakfast burritos are still awesome.
I think it is pretty common for the summer winds to be lesss outside the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I was up there last Sunday and it was howling in Sooke, but just breezy past Owen Point (still windy, but not crazy).

Thats whats making me leave a day early, just in case. But I'll be leaving around 5:00am so I should be ok and with a little luck I'll just breeze on by Renfrew and be in the sound by 10am Thursday then, thanks guys.quote:Better run in the morning Poppa
Maybe drop a line off camper on the way by...
And maybe drop the anchor for an hour off Carmanah? Since you're there and all.

And bring your harpoon and scotchman, too, just in case. You'd hate to need it, and not have it...
