    vancouver chum

    How come no one fishes for chum around vancouver? I was sort of waiting for this board to announce they were here and go get them. Nothing happened? Why?

    Some people do, but I don't think there's a lot of people specifically targeting them. One of the reasons may be that they aren't the ready biters that are found in places like Campbell river. At least I've never heard of 20-25 fish days like the guys at the Chum derby there were catching. Most of the time they are usually incidental catches when trolling for springs with bait or Hoochies. If anyone's having luck with the Chum locally, be sure to let us know.

    Agreed, they usually don't bite. They can drive you mad as you watch them swim by the boat, and jump all around you. FYI, the ones that jump up straight and land on the side are usuauly chum.
