Fishing Tidal Areas of the Fraser River

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to lemme know the best method(s) for fishing the lower reaches of the Fraser for springs. My previous experience on the Fraser has mainly been bar fishing or plunking farther up the valley, and I was wondering the best way to go, and gear to use. The area of the river I'd like to try is on the north side of Westham Island, in the river channel south of Steveston.

I've got a 14 ft Lund SSV, and to date the only non-guided fishing I've done myself is trolling along the West Van to Cap area. Would it be best to troll with spoons and anchovies on a flood tide, or just find a place to anchor away from traffic and set up a bar rig?

    Thanks,
    Duff

I've used both big spoons trolling and bar rigs @ anchor from a similar sized boat with very little to show for either method-partially I think because my heart just isn't in river fishing anymore.

    YMMV
