    Gerrard Rainbows

Heh guys, just wondering if anyone out there has ever fished Trout Lake(north of Nakusp), for Gerrard Rainbows, and if so any info like type of gear and best time of year, etc. is greatly appreciated! I have seen that they spawn in April and May, but wondering when the best fishing is.

I have heard of some guys fishing trout lake in the spring and fall, but I think it's generally slower than Kootenay lake. The big rainbows that spawn there on the lardeau are mostly from Kootenay lake anyways. As far as gear goes long-line buck tail flies and Lyman plugs or Apexes mostly right on top. Lots of fish are caught on downriggers too, but during the spring and fall most of the big fish are caught on bucktails.
