    Fishing Reports Using Twitter

Real Time Fishing Reports Using Twitter

Late last year I launched a Twitter feed for people interested in getting and/or giving fishing reports in real time. If you are interested using, contributing, or simply reading the fishing reports, just follow AnglerJim on Twitter. Here's how it works:

    1. Sign up to Twitter (if you are not already).
    2. Simply follow AnglerJim on Twitter and you will now receive all the tweets from people who want to contribute fishing reports.
    3. If you want to contribute a fishing report, simply tweet to AnglerJim the report and your tweet will be sent to all users following AnglerJim. For example: @AnglerJim We just landed a 12 lb Spring at Trap Shack. 100 ft on small anchovy.

I've also created four hashtags that consolidates tweets for a specific area. These are #sookefishbite, #victoriafishbite, #vancouverfishbite, and #bamfieldfishbite. If these are used often enough, I'll create more hashtags for other regions ie Campbell River.

Here is how to use the hashtags in your tweets:
@anglerjim Lots of bait showing up at 80 feet at Constance Bank #victoriafishbite

If you have any questions or comments on this service, post below and I'll do my best to help you out. Happy fishing everyone!

    Cheers,
    AnglerJim

The hyper connected world we live in and adoption of smartphones are a reality today. I believe the young generation will only bolster the use of this type of service. So far, most reports are coming in at the end of the day. Example "landed one nice tyee off Cape Beale today at 45' on cut plug herring #bamfieldfishbite".

    Bah

I'm in the younger generation. What's twitter?

I'll keep to getting my information from this reliable site from anglers people know and trust. Part of the fun is finding your fish...if fishing was easy it wouldn't be half the fun.

Checking a twitter feed and checking reports here is the same thing. I don't use twitter either but lots of people do this is a good idea it will take awhile to grow just like this site but one day it might be a source of info. Who doesn't like reading fish reports?

If the twitter feed ever took off could you make money off it through adds or something?

I think holmes grabbed my junk in the "pile on" though....I found it inappropriate but I was released gently; given what we were piling on about I found it educational as to a good release. ~ Pip
And Lipripper - until you have been there, I would strongly suggest you STFU. ~ bigbruce
