    yamaha 9.9 4 stroke question

    Need some advice please,

Just about to change the oil on a 2001 9.9 4stroke and don't see a drain hole. It looks like I will need to drain with a pump through the dipstick hole. Is this correct or is there a drain on the leg somewhere?

    Thanks guys

Check out this link. Should have all the info you require for your 9.9 and most other yamahas.

I thought the original 9.9's had the oil drain on the front of the leg just below the upper shrowd. When did they move it to the side? Seems like an odd change to make for how many more years of production were left.

On my motor the drain was centred on the back of the leg, plug facing down.
