    dungeness crabbing around tent island

    hello i live in ladysmith and em going out on saturday to troll and jig for salmon and cod uncluding prawning and crabbing. im just wondering where is the best spot for crabbing and wat depth. any ideas or areas?? also im wondering if any body knows any hidding spots for prawns that the commercial prawners didnt out fish even though there last prawning day is tommoroe friday

    For crabs, try Booth Bay or Shoal Islands. Prawns are done.

    without giving away my secret, which is what i am doing - head between the mill and the chemainus river, by the big pilings... it comes up fast so be carrful, but have always done well there with the crab traps!

    are those pilling on the front side of bare point towards those islands in front of croften??

    I believe so... between Willy Island and Shoal Island, you cna see the big pilings there, and there is a big shelf that comes up and then into the shallows...

    Yes that is a very good spot we use to own one of the shoal islands
