    Access to Weeks Lake?

    Hi all,

    New forum member here.

Does anyone know if there is any public access into Weeks Lake, especially now that the land is CRD? If so, are there closed gates to deal with getting there?

The last time I tried to get up there was in 2008 and there was a locked gate west of Shawnigan where the road leaves the Koksilah and starts a long climb. I'd hate to drive all the way up there again only to experience the same.

As far as I know, autoreverse, the gates are only open when the logging trucks are hauling out,or active logging going
on. If you proceed past these gates, there is a chance you could be locked in at the end of the day. Sometimes they
leave them open 24hrs. Mon. to Fri. then lock up on weekends. Other times the last truck out at the end of the day
locks them. Personally,I wouldn't risk it!

exactly what fshfn said plus if your caught in there your escorted out. Some of my first fav fishing memories was fishing the 'secret' lake in behind weeks lake which is now nothing more then a silt puddle.

That's what I was afraid to hear. I have many fond memories of Weeks - including lugging a canoe into those two little lakes in the back.

Just curious - is it the CRD who kicks you out, or the logging company?
