Island smallmouth

Spider lake is in full spawning now for the smallmouth......went there on may 12th and the females had not layed yet but they wer guarding there nests........lots of nests on the sunny shores....a few in the shade , but by now they should be everywhere. Lots of trout jumping, never tried for rainbows as the water is pretty warm and too many little fresh hatchery fish buzzing around grabbing everything that looks small and brown like a pellet....(chronomid)....lol......Post any news you have on other island bass lakes

I see that California Lilacs are close to blooming-that means Smallie fishing is going to heat up!
