There was a write-up on it in a Cowichan newspaper about a month ago - I believe an improved launch ramp is part of the plan. Cam Pringle's a long-time and keen boater so I'm sure it will be a showpiece once they are done. He had his 3288 cruiser there for many years when Fred and Marilyn Laba owned the marina.

I heard from a friend of mine who inquired about moorage fees, that the price is out of this world. He owns a 14fter
and he was quoted $280.00. That's $20.00 a foot!! I've never heard of moorage that high anywhere else on the south
island here, but I guess they gotta pay for that shiney new marina somehow.

May end up in the Mill Bay area for Easter, is there a good ramp in the area now? Also, what's the fishing like around there, are there halibut around? Salmon? Never fished that side of the island so any ideas welcome.

I don't think the moorage is that bad! IMHO

    2013/2014 Moorage Rates
    20' slips - Annual - $11.00/ft/month // Monthly $13.20/ft/month
    25' slips - Annual - $11.50/ft/month // Monthly $13.80/ft/month
    28' slips - Annual - $11.50/ft/month // Monthly $13.80/ft/month
    32' slips - Annual - $11.50/ft/month // Monthly $13.80/ft/month
    40' slips - Annual - $12.75/ft/month // Monthly $15.30/ft/month
    50' slips - Annual - $13.50/ft/month // Monthly $16.20/ft/month
20' and 25' slips calculations are based on the length of the boat. 28'/32'/40' and 50' slips are based on longer of boat or slip. Shortest boat calculation is based on 16'.

50A power available on some 50' slips at $0.50/month more. Overnight rate $1.75/ft/night including power.

Short term tie up - $5 min charge / $10 for 2 hours or more.

This pricing is effective April 1, 2013. All pricing subject to change without notice.

IT seems that prices have dropped since I last heard. Your right,Labman2,they're more on par with most other marinas
now. Too bad there's no halibut in Saanich inlet or I'd be tied up there full time!
