Best campgrounds to accomodate a fisherman -Vancouver island

Having just returned from camping/ staying in port alberni I thought it would be great to find out where every stays when they are out fishing. I ofter see people asking where to stay and I was looking for a new place to stay this year.
Here are 2 of my favorites.

    Alder Bay Pt mcneill
Moorage and launch. Camping where you can see your boat in the slip. Nice cleaning station
    Pwr, water, and pay showers

    Port Alberni- Arrowvale campground
    Freezer to use....BONUS!
    pwr, water and free showers
Private Access to a mile of the stamp river for riverfishing
Family oriented and GREAT for the kids, goats ducks, donkeys etc

I hope I am not the only person ( other than Dave) to share a few jewels on Vancouver Island..
Yes.. by posting there is the possibility of your FAV spot not being available.
I would think with the down turn in the economy and less tourists from other countries it would be nice to help out those that go the extra mile for the sportsfisherman... AND help keep them in business during slower times.

I have to put up the Renfrew marina.....
The only people that are there are there to fish and drink..... fun place.
I would camp on the beach if I had the young'ins with me.

Pacific playgrounds (Oyster River/Saratoga beach) if you are into beach humpy fishing, cutties and good times with the kids
I think holmes grabbed my junk in the "pile on" though....I found it inappropriate but I was released gently; given what we were piling on about I found it educational as to a good release. ~ Pip
And Lipripper - until you have been there, I would strongly suggest you STFU. ~ bigbruce

Ok I'll bite the bullet, not a campsite but a resort at the end of Nootka Sound and I'm just a customer not an employee or owner.

    See for full details: http://www.moutchabay.com/

    Tent sites $40
    Campsites $50 non service
    Campsites $60 service (power 30amp & water)
Moorage $20 Min for up to 20' then $1 per foot
Showers - Free (included in your booking)
    Gas - $1.33 @L
Diesel $1.35 @L (both marine and as of a week ago)
    Propane re-filling
    Sani dump
    Restaurant ($8 to $24+up)
    Some fishing gear
    Internet
No phone service but have a Sat phone if needed
Boat launch (best at high or near high for larger boats)
Govn't approved fish processing plant ($2 @ lb) or you can use there freezers free
18' center consul aluminum boats for rent 90hp & 9.9 kicker (Suzuki 4st's), 2 Scotty electric downriggers $185 @ day + fuel (insurance & fishing gear extra)
Guided trips on grady whites or proline (check for prices)
Prawn & Crab traps for rent
    Staff very accommodating and friendly
Lodge See web site ($240 and up) for suites
    Yurts $379 @ night 5-6 people
    Travel Trailer $100 @ night 5+ people
Chalets $379 @ night 6-9 people (both Yurts&Chalets are for peak season July 15 and after, again see web site, cheaper in non peak season)
Don't know about next year but for the last 4 years if you book before the end of the year 5% discount on camping not trailer, lodge, yurts or chalet.
15% off if staying 7 or more days and 20% off for non peak season from opening to July 15 and later on (see web site) again this is for camping check about lodge, yurts etc
1/2hr drive to Thasis, 45 - 50 min to Gold River not towing just a vehicle.

Going from memory so don't quote me on the prices, I don't usually make mistakes, I only error in judgment but sometimes those error's are on the rather large size.
