    its just 4 batteries wired in series...

    seems to becoming quite popular out east on some trolling boats (not this exact engine, but electric engines in general, westmarine has another kind if you visit their site).- most are setup with a generator running to power the outboard which i guess they are finding to be much more efficient than running a gas engine
