225 yamaha oil change
just bought 04 225 yamaha with 223 hour fluid changed 1yr ago at 100hrs, would like to do a complete end of season service in oct. dealer says over due for oil change and not an simple job. have changed fliuds on my 9.9 yamaha and was easy. thought i would pull it out and just change oil and leg at the ramp then wait till oct for full service.any advice would be appreciated. thxs dave

It's easier to suck the oil out with an extractor, dropping it from the leg makes a mess as the pan doesn't drain straight on that motor.

I have no idea where you can buy one, but I think you could make your own easy enough. I have seen home made ones in operation before, worked great. Use battery powered handheld drill, buy small inline pump that fits into drill chuck. Reduce hose size down to plastic tubing small enough to fit in dipstick tube. Tube is fed down into oil pan and use drill to suck it out and pump into a recyling container.

Lordco,Napa, marine stores i.e Nikka, Bridgeview etc. They are common items. Don't know where you live but you should be able to find one easily.

Anyone that carries marine oil, should have it?
And, it's not that hard to do... Go for it!
