Looks like a friendly bunch!! LOL
X2,mikep. This is pretty much exactly what I did to my boat last year, except I did only 3 coats of Interprotect 2000.
So far no issues at all. Like you said,do it once,do it right!
Yep,I see em in Saanich Inlet all year round as well. But hey,it's just for "ceremonial purposes". Whatever!!
Nice eaters there,Falcon.Sounds like you were around the same area we were yesterday.Like a lot of things in life,it's
all in the timing!!
Just back from a hali trip off Pedder Bay. On the pick and lines down by 8:30. Stuck it out till 1:30 when the wind picked
up,but no luck.Half a dozen boats around us,and only saw 1 small one caught...
Ya,I keep tellin' him to put a few more horses on the back. When him and I go fishing in it,it takes a bit to get up on plane, and goes about 20 mph tops. What size is your main,if you don't mind me...
Those are a nice little boat, jaymasta.A buddy of mine has the same D.E. with a 30 hp. Nissan and a 6hp evinrude
kicker. Great on gas and a good "fair weather" boat for off Victoria/Sooke.He anchors...
Exellent article, bigbruce. Breaks down CHIRP technology really well so that you don't have to be a rocket scientist to
understand it. Thanks for the link!
Yep,just did the same thing myself. Bought 2 for the boat, and now there will be no excuses about having to wear
"those ugly, bulky, sweaty pieces of s#$t" The quality looks great, and you can't...
I just use the heavy Zip lock freezer bags, cover with water and double bag as I've had a few "blow out" on me in the
past. They're never as good as the fresh ones, but I don't think any kind of...
I fish Saanich Inlet close to home here. When the prawning is decent,I can pull the traps every 2-3 hrs. Usually within
a couple of pulls,I have my 200 prawn limit, and drop em down till the next...
No kidding!! I do the same thing twice a year. Hit em hard for a week or so and get 1200-1500 in the freezer. 6 months
later they're all gone and go do it again.
Thanks for that,Jammer.Next time I'm down south I'll pick one up for sure. The Berkley ones only weigh to 50lbs.,and are
quite a bit more expensive.I've bought a lot of stuff from them in the...
I was in Lakes Marine myself talking with Steve and picking up some things this morning. Great guy, very knowlegable, and reasonably
priced as well, I've found. Glad it turned out good for ya! I'll be...
This was back in the 90's when I used them. Had 3 or 4 of them, and used em alot. Finally lost the last one about 5
years ago. They had stainless ball bearing swivels, and with a little regular...
I haven't used that brand of flasher, but I've used a similar style with the "kicker fin". It's called a Bechold flasher and
it's made in the U.S. Unlike your standard flasher with the ends bent in...

We fished Friday and Sat. for Hali out of Pedder Bay. Friday,6hrs. on the pick at the 27 fathom reef,no bites. Sat.,5hrs.
on the pick at William Head,no bites. Stopped to ask about the fishing at...
Where abouts is the location in Mill bay/Cobble Hill ,if you don't mind me asking,High Five?
That's mounted on the rim and installed on the trailer. I was told that balancing is not nesessary on !3" wheels.
Good thread for sure. Wear my Mustang floater suit during the winter months, and cooler, foggy type summer days. I'll
generally not wear anything if it's a nice, calm, hot sunny day. Just don't like...
Yeah,it did suck last year. They closed off several areas really early and one of the last to remain open was my
"stompin' grounds" in Saanich Inlet.Half the frickin' fleet ended up in there and...
Just replaced 2 13" tires on my near new Karavan trailer. It originally came with bias ply tires, and heard of a good deal on a pair of radials,so went that route, even though there was only a few...
