Trolled from the Pilot bouy to Albert Head and caught one sockeye at 35' on an "Irish Flag" spoon at 12:30pm yeterday.

I agree that 10 minutes steaming is sufficient. Their shells are naturally a little tougher than the shells of Dungeness.

Has anyone had success using this lure? Do you fish it like a plug with no flasher or like a hootchie with a flasher?

I would not worry about changing the spoon action. DC Reid suggests using two spoons in tandem. I have used this successfully on pinks and coho. I even caught dogfish on this setup.
