For Haida Gwaii you only have one choice, the Charlotte Princess at Langara Island. The Salmon Seeker at Kano Inlet is no longer in operation.
I don't see this as much of an issue, the average kicker is not immersed in sea water long enough to make a big difference even if this is true.
I've had a stainless prop guard on my kicker for 6...
Budget in Sandspit has a Toyota Sienna which I think can seat 6. There's Rustic Rentals in Queen Charlotte, I'm not sure what they have available but they have had full size SUV's in the past.
Their poles might have been down for their stabilizers.
If it were me, I wouldn't go there. There's too many unknowns.
You're looking at spending $24,000 on up (plus sweat equity) for a pod and engine which has the potential of not working out as well...
Hmmm...interesting point of view. It's not very realistic though.
Looks like someone has added bulwarks to increase the freeboard. Do you know if this was a wet boat prior to the modifications?
I can't see most people (including myself) keeping a record of which days they fish, where, how many released, etc. etc.
I can see people just making stuff up to fulfill the requirements. This...
No it's nothing new.

A vehicle with a tidy tank of gasoline would not be permitted on the ferry.
I have a Yamaha 9.9 with electric start that's wired to it's own battery with the downriggers. If I have a problem with a low battery I can jump one batttery to the other.
I had this problem only once, it was the first time I swapped out the Racor fuel filter when the boat was new to me. To get it apart I had to pierce the filter with a long screw driver and use a...
You need to acquire a PAL (possession and aquisition license). See this web site;

Here is a place that you could take the firearms...
Cool but I could see this going wrong very easily. I hope no one decides to start hand feeding them.
I've dived with Stellar Sealions many years ago at Race Rocks and the females got close, but not...
The Amundson Reel looks interesting. Does anyone know when and where it will be offered for sale (and at what price)?
Thanks all for your suggestions.
I think I might know the problem, Pt. Grey is in Burrard Inlet, not Howe Sound! LOL ;)
Hello all
I'm thinking about getting new single action reels. I presently use shimanos but I'd like something with better drags. I like Islanders but they are too expensive. Any suggestions?

I have a 2008 150 that I bought new in 2010. I 've been pretty happy with it.
PROS: it's good on fuel, starts quickly and easily, was less expensive than competitors 150's, very easy to...
I have an '88 Yamaha 4 stroke 9.9 for a kicker, it runs like a top. I've had it for 8 years and hasn't let me down, not even a hiccup. It gets about 80 to 100 hours use a year. It gets flushed...

When I lived in Langford we "shat in our back yard" it was called a septic field. Then the city of Langford decided that wasn't good enough and due to pressure from real estate developers...
If you have to choose one or the other, I would say trim tabs, but both is best.
I lived in Ukee back in the late '80's early 90's and fished Kennedy Lake frequently. I fished from shore with flies mostly near creek mouths and caught many cutthroat. I frequently found that they...
Also if the float is not marked properly DFO will confiscate the trap. (I'm not saying this was the case here)
Great story! Well written and illustrated. It brings back fond memories of my time in Hakai aboard the Marabell. Sorry for your loss(es) and thanks for sharing!
