Wow, the price of Sockeye

I was in Thrifties last night and saw whole with head off Sockeye around 4 or 5 pounds for $39[:0].
I know it's the ''T-Bone'' of the salmon world but I was absolutely floored.
Lol, if only I could catch steaks and beer I'd be in heaven

After the Closures of the Commercial season for California, Oregon and Washington went into effect in the spring of 2006 this spring, the price of King Salmon went through the roof. The usual Copper River King went up by 125% at least. The Alaskan Fishermen would have done alright but for the price of Fuel. I always say it would be better to give a fisherman $ 50.00 for fuel and get a boat ride than get a limit at the grocery store. Looks like the cost of fuel is going to drop though. Quit wishin' and go fishin'. [8D]

i was in fairways, a small fillet of spring was over $8,fishing for steak and beer would be nice though hurston

Fresh whole sockeye is 12-15 $ at the super store...
