personally I wouldn't looks like it still has lots of life in it.

Yes stainless steel brush only. Running steel or braid line on downriggers? If your using steel line yes!

Braid only on the rigger's

I use Muriatic Acid on them..gets into all the pores and gets rid of the scale...used to wire brush them now just take an old paint brush and brush some on....it bubbles and hisses and in seconds the scale is gone....they turn blackish but that doesn't effect them sacrificing. Just rinse once they stop hissing and all the scale is gone.
