Thought some might find this interesting....why, for example it's important to have your bow tight to the winch roller...

Also why it's important to pull the plug on the trailer. A lot of rain that doesn't have a way to get out and the tongue weight can go way down as the water weight collects at the stern.

The reason why I make the bow safety chain as short as possible too: just long enough to get over the bow eye. Extra length just lets boat slide further back if the winch fails or allows the boat to get moving faster before chain gets tight and makes chain more likely to break.
