The reality of the Salmon Farm attention in BC

Hey Birdsnest
if Tom Fletcher is the best Fish Farm advocate you can find, you are in trouble.
He lives in Victoria and writes for the Goldsteam Gazette and has written before supporting Fish Farms .
He ignores any anti fish farm evidence, including the fact that Fish Farm Sea Lice do kill Wild salmon.
In his last article he calls anti Fish Farm evidence "fake news."
He started his last article by saying
"The fake-news tactics of hired protesters"
Sounds like a Donald Trump speech....don't you think??

Ya - if was actually trying to refute Morton's claims - he would have stuck with more tangible and defensible rebuts. "Morton is an admirer of the United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union." Really? Really-really? I guess that's why it is called an "opinion" piece - rather than a "news" piece. I would have expected better from a professional reporter - with all their contacts and support - than this dribble...

The opinion piece by Fletcher is just that - an opinion. His articles seldom quote any peer reviewed, scientific research, but rather just other non-fact based opinion pieces and news references. His article above has little to do with reality, but a lot to do with his fact-less, personal opinion. Of course he is entitled to his opinion, but his article is pretty lame rationale for "The reality of the Salmon Farm attention in BC" which in reality is just your personal opinion.

There is more and more concern among the public, local, provincial and state govt's, in addition to growing body of scientific research (many of which have been posted on this forum that fish farm supporters have been unwilling/unable to dispute) about the negative impacts of net pen fish farms. This is more like "The reality of the Salmon Farm attention in BC".
