Anyone know where there is some halibut fishing in the Southern Gulf Island? Thanks

Sorry to be the agent of bad news again but there are no Halibut in the Southern Gulf Islands-most of which are closed to Bottomfishing in any case.

that's why there's a warranty!

Head to sook/pedder bay as it's hot right now fish the 18 fathom and west of race lots of big oooones being caught... Large herring or octpus. Salmon guts work well too.

A Halibut spreader bar is shaped like a builder's square, about 5" x 8", with a weight attached to the short leg and a short leader with a double hook tie for the bait attached to the long leg. Mainline attaches at the corner. The other really popular rig is a large weight with a giant hootchy and hooks at the top that are often baited with octopus or whatever.
