Hey there Robin,
Fishing has been EXCELLENT out on the Banks (7 mile and 10 mile OK, but the Big Bank is hotter than a pistol!). Easy limits of springs and hali's have been the rule. Off Beale has been on and off, good day before yest, but bloody slow yesterday.
Sockeye are dying off quickly in the Inlet, but the odd spring has been taken over the last week inside. Barkely Sound saw the Pachena Salmon Derby (ongoing) this weekend, and the current leader is a 51 pound spring!
Further down the coast, Wya has begun to turn on, and the SouthBank is producing well.
With 100,000 springs now close, and a few already in, should be some very hot fishing in the next while. I expect the outer to see good numbers this week, and an explosion into the Inlet the week after. We got 2 springs over 30 yest, near Poet Nook, so, they are on the way.
Your timing may be just a tad early, but then again, might be quite right. If things are slow at the Wall, Whittlestone and Beale, head out to the Banks, and you'll get 'em. I'll bet though, the inside sites will be active!
Good Luck and Tight Lines!
Enjoy your visit to the Real West Coast!
