We usually spend a couple of weeks fishing Albernie Inlet staying at China Creek marina.I would like try the Port Renfrew area. Can anyone suggest a resort we could camp and also has a launch ramp and moorage?

There is the Port Renfrew Marina(old logging camp dry land sort area) which has camping, and launch etc, the Native campsite and launch and Gallaughers Fish Camp which has no launch but moorage.
There are other accomodations but launch or moorage, thouigh the townsite puts moorage in at the old government wharf area in the summer months.
All are listed in the phone book and internet under Port Renfrew.

I think the moorage at the goverment townsite is for residents only I dont think you can get moorage there the old log site is really the only place to go.

Alley Cat, Wolf,
Thanks for the replies, we have a 21 foot W/A and have been fishing the inside waters for many years. However if we do go to the coast this year I don't want to get over my head as far as dangerous water conditions and other hazzards. Are there protected areas around the area worth fishing? What about the Sooke area?

They must have pre-booked this year for the first time as I tied up there last year for 3 nights on very low tides in the morning as we couldn't get out of the river until way too late for the morning bite.

Sunnyshores lookes like a nice spot. How is the salmon fishing around May? Also what local waters are fishable? Thanks for your replies! Last year Oct was a hot month for the mouth of the Capalino River. They introduced Harrison River springs and they are growing up big time.We were lucky enough to catch a 38lb.

We pretty much fish year round, Weather permitting of course!<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle> Halibut opened yesterday <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> but the weather isnt permitting.
