Replacing Bunks on my trailer

Has anyone replaced the wooden bunks on their trailer? If so, what do you suggest for type of wood? Are there any alternatives such as hard plastic? How do you get the necessary curves in the wood to fit the shape of the hull?

I just used 2x6 pressure treated wood the same lengh thats on there and the bent wood I think that accured over time. I got outdoor carpet from home depot and used that

Did same this spring. Pressure treated 2X6 attached with galv. lags and found a bed material at hardware store and attached with ss staples.

Is there something to finish the bunks with that is more slippery than carpat in order to make loading easier?

Check with SG power or Sherwood, they have "teflon sliders"
that screw down onto the bunks.
You still need to carpet them, but the slider's make it easier
to load and unload the boat.

if you are looking for teflon sliders I have a bunch for sale....I think I have 8 of them that fit the 2 x 6 bunks...pm me
