reel seat repair

How would one go about properly repairing a reel seat that spins? I heated a 3/16th bolt with a torch, melted a few holes through the seat and got as much epoxy as I could in there, rotated it a bit to smear the epoxy between the blank and the seat, then lined up the guides and let it cure. Seems okay.

That will work, I fix many a year for people.
I use a syringe to force as much epoxy under the seat as possible, have never had one fail yet.
