Prop Fit?

I have a new 50hp Honda and was wanting to try a different prop...... I was looking at a Merc prop but was told by the Merc guys that Merc props don't fit Hondas until the 75hp and up...... Contacted Honda and they said a 13 spline prop from Merc will fit.

Any help? Don't have a store close to me to try one on....

I’m not sure about your Honda. I once had an older Honda 90 and at that time Honda actually used Merc lower units on a number of their OBs.

If they are both 13 spline my guess is it will work. Are you changing size and pitch by much though?

Need to go up 2" in pitch from the current 12. Also want to got to SS and to 4 blades. Honda doesn't have many options

Have you tried the prop fitment wizards at Solas, Turning Point etc?

I use this one at Iboats, pretty handy as it shows multiple brands, #of blades etc;

Funny, I'm was thinking of going to a 3 blade. I currently have a 4 blade on my 16.5 Glastron w/115hp.

Not sure why though, something about the way it bites too hard in tight turns. It might the silly planing fin thing that the previous owner put on it. He used it to pull skiers I think so maybe the 4 blade and fin helped it's hole shot?
