DFO closes for pinks yet we have a full FN opening in the Fraser.
Just after this closure announcement, DFO then gives a full comm FN opening to purse seine the Fraser this week!!!!

The FN get first dibs, plus DFO are concerned about flossers if they open for pink and chinoook, due to the Sockeye by catch. They can't enforce a bar fishery for Chinook or a spinner, jig or fly only for pinks. The gear that could be used is a concern. Lots of pinks out there though. Ow do you get them with hooking the Sockeye is the question? If DFO 'suggests' you use selective gear and technique to get pink or spring, the flossers will come out on mass because they don't know any better.
