Pedastal seats

My son is mounting a couple seats in his boat. Will the pedastal be ok mounted to the fiberglass? Or should it be on a base and the base to the floor?

my pedestals' are screwed into the floor, no base

mine are screwed directly to the deck. make sure to 3m 3200 seal them or you'll get some rot

I personally have put them on a cabinet base wish storage spots under neath for all the **** you need on a boat. as stuff sliding around on a deck of a boat is a real pain, its amazing how much you can use for storage and very easy to do..Ive even custom built some for buddies boats and put locks on them so you can store down riggers sounders rods etc securely.

You can also use toggle bolts if you don't have access to through bolt.

I like the storage underneath, he got to rammy and installed them to the floor. He had it out on sat and says their fine.
